The Maryland Dissecting Forcep is the most commonly used laparoscopic dissection instrument. Its fine, curved, and grooved jaw tips provide excellent grip and dissection capability for blunt dissection of tissue planes and careful handling of delicate structures. The Maryland is used in virtually every laparoscopic procedure for dissection, tissue grasping, and vessel isolation. It is available in monopolar electrosurgical-compatible versions for combined dissection and coagulation.
